4 Sub-Tests in IELTS General Training Test

IELTS General Training Test is conducted in four parts – Listening, Writing, Reading, and Speaking. The General Training Reading and Writing Sub-tests are less demanding than the corresponding Academic Module sub-tests, but the Listening and Speaking Sub-tests are the same for both modules.

You will be given a mark between 0 and 9 for each of the 4 sub-tests. Your Overall Band Score for General IELTS Training Test is an average of the 4 Sub-test band score, with fractional scores rounding up or down to the nearest x.0 or x.5 score (with x.25 and x.75 rounding up.)

IELTS General Training Test Timings

The total test time of Academic IELTS Training Test is 2 hours and 45 minutes. The test is divided in to the four modules as below:

• Listening 30 minutes
• Reading 60 minutes
• Writing 60 minutes
• Speaking About 15 minutes
